In this session we will work through a couple of examples on how to make personal data available as open data by anonymising it. This is a non-technical session and aims to give you confidence when dealing with personal data. Previous experience with analysing or publishing datasets are useful but not required. Advanced legal and technical aspects are out of scope. We will mostly cover basic areas such as exercises in aggregating, censoring, and consideration about further trade-offs between risk and value.
Ulrich is the Head of Statistics at the Open Data Institute (ODI), where he does research, training, and consultancy. He represents the ODI in the consortium running the UK Anonymisation Network.
